Aligning With Your Source

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

-          Marianne Williamson

I was floating in space looking down on the remarkable globe of our earth and a voice in a calm monotone said, “This is a dream.” With a shock of joy, suddenly I became awake while still within the dream. I realized where I was and felt a profound inspiration and calm that was beyond words. The voice continued, as if it had awakened me so it could share its message. The voice declared, “The purpose of symbolism is to focus the mind on God,” and then the interview was done and I drifted back to my regular sleeping consciousness.

Your mind is one of the most advanced pieces of equipment in the galaxy and you can tune it to whatever frequency you wish. All the situations, relationships and goals of your life, anything that occupies your focus become the symbols of your life. Whether your symbols are religious, material or relational, everything in your life can be a que to turn your focus on something bigger than yourself.

Allah, Jesus, Buddha, the Force; Reality is what it is regardless of your perspective or interpretation. This is not about any particular material, spiritual or religious belief system, yet every religion has some version of the idea that you are made in God’s image; that the essence and the core of what it is to be human is Divine and this Divinity is the essence of your true nature and is at the center of your being.  Any belief system is only useful if it helps you to align with your Source but essentially this is not about some belief system; this is about having a direct experience of who you are, and living your life and making your daily decisions from this knowing. This power manifests in your life and everything works whenever you align with this Source.

Most of us allow the conflicts of our society, the problems of our life, and the fears of our egos to determine where we focus our attention, but you have another choice. You have another choice. Your essential nature is love and you can go within and tune your attention to the awareness of the radical love which is at the center of your being, regardless of what life problems you are facing. You can consistently choose to align with the truth of love and use that awareness of Love’s presence to resolve all the difficulties in your life. You can align with your source and allow your life to flow from that foundation.  This is not about ignoring your problems and talking about love and light and rainbows and unicorns, this is rather about going deep into the heart of your fears and bringing light into the darkness. This is where you find your power and begin to live your truth.  This is where your fears become your teachers and where your life struggles and challenges resolve. This is where you begin to live on purpose and your life begins to work in an amazing and beautiful way.

As a therapist over the past 25 years, I get more and more clear that my one job is to help people understand and release the patterns of dysfunction in their lives and in their relationships and let go of the fears of their ego, so they can realize the intense beauty and joy of their true Self, and begin to identify with the power of the fundamental quintessence of unconditional love at the heart of their being.

To use this principle in your life, use the following three steps when facing the challenges of your life.

1.       Raise your self-awareness of the fears and negative thinking that clouds your judgement. Understand the cognitive distortions that create the foundation of your paradigm and that sabotage your relationships and block the results you want to produce in your life.

2.       Unplug from your fear-based thinking. Ask yourself the question, “Is it true?” It is true that I am inadequate? Is it true that I’m alone or powerless or whatever your fears want you to believe when you are faced with your life challenges.

3.       Reengage in a more enlightened manner. Address the difficult situations in your life from a place of good judgement and balance rather than allowing your fears to throw you into the mode of mindless reactivity. Find your center and bring the best of yourself to the situation.

To live on purpose in your life, you must first become a match for what you desire. To have the right partner, you must first be the right partner whether that’s in relationships or in your work or personal life. Release your fears and allow the wisdom within you to step forward into your life and the life you imagine becomes possible.

Namaste,
